Background.   The company was founded in 1991 as a Systems Integrator and Computer Networking firm.  We have sold our clients various backup solutions over the years as part of our labors on behalf of our clients. These backup solutions have included software, hardware, and training.  And over the years, the equipment and software has become easier and easier to use.

The Solution.   Q-BACK.  Quantalytics Remote Automatic Backup.  Quantalytics is now offering Q-BACK, our Remote Automatic Backup solution.  We provide backup software which has built into it an  FTP client.  (FTP stands for File Transfer  Protocol, an  Internet method of moving files.)  This software runs the backup job unattended at night, after business hours.  The backed up files are compressed, password protected (encrypted), and then transferred via FTP to our backup server.  This is done 7 nights per week, 365 nights per year.  Backups can now be reliably done, and reliably stored off site for far greater security.  In the event of a fire, for example, the backups would not be immolated.  Instead, all data are available for IMMEDIATE recovery.

Typical folders and files to be backed up are "My Documents", Quickbook Workbooks, Quicken data, various medical and dental office management  package's data, etc. 

The backup software works across a Local Area Network (LAN) as well, makng it  possible to back up not just a server's data, but also individual users' data.

Requirements.  The key requirements are:

 a) the customer must have a broadband connection (DSL, Cable  Modem, T-1); and

b) Be running Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, or XP, including server versions.  Any of these versions, including a mixed environment, is OK.

Security.  The backup is compressed and encrypted (password  protected) at the customer site when the backup software is set up.  This meets  HIPAA  requirements for all health care providers (doctors, dentists,  therapists,  nurses., etc.) as well as the security concerns of businesses, professional practices, and telecommuters.  However, it is the customer's  responsibility to remember the password!
